Veteran leadership team assumes ownership role, deepening commitment to company’s future
McCoy Rockford has announced a leadership transition and a new ownership structure that position the company for its next phase of growth. Veteran team member Chris Erdeljac was named chief executive officer, heading a leadership team that has long guided McCoy Rockford’s strategic direction and day-to-day operations.
Erdeljac’s new role, which took effect on April 4, follows former CEO Ken Beaver’s retirement.
This evolution reflects a unified, long-term vision for the company driven by a seasoned leadership group, including Erdeljac, Chief Commercial Officer Amy Lopez and Chief Financial Officer Leah Schlater-Brown. Collectively, this team brings more than 80 years of industry experience across key markets, including corporate, education, healthcare, life sciences and government.
“I am humbled by the opportunity to lead this great organization and will continue to nurture the passion our team has to do what’s right for our customers and each other,” Erdeljac said. “I also intend to push our leaders and teams beyond their comfort zones to ensure we are the market leader for integrated interiors in Austin, Houston and beyond for years to come.”
In addition to the leadership transition, McCoy Rockford has introduced a new ownership structure that includes key members of its leadership team as owner/operators alongside a broader group of predominantly local investors. The move ensures greater alignment between company leadership and long-term strategic goals.
“This is not a dramatic change. It’s a reflection of who we already are and where we’re going,” Lopez said. “We have nurtured a thriving culture and developed enduring relationships with partners and end users throughout the state. Our team and our position in the market have never been stronger.”
As McCoy Rockford looks ahead, the company is focused on expanding its complementary product and service offerings — including solutions for furniture, flooring and walls. With the rapid pace of innovation and evolving expectations for workplace environments, the leadership team sees tremendous opportunity to help clients design and build more collaborative, intuitive spaces.
“I am incredibly excited for what’s next,” Lopez continued. “I look forward to helping our team and our clients create flexible, multipurpose environments that not only adapt to changing workplace needs but also support individual wellbeing — because when people flourish, organizations do, too.”
The company enters this new era following a standout year in 2024, marked by notable milestones and recognitions:
- Named a Top Workplace by both the Houston Chronicle and Austin American-Statesman
- Added 19 new team members across markets
- Formed a new strategic partnership with Falkbuilt, an innovator in walls and architectural solutions
- Placed the largest-ever order in a single month for Steelcase Health, underscoring McCoy Rockford’s capability to execute enterprise-level projects
Chief Financial Officer Leah Schlater-Brown described the transition as an exciting opportunity to grow the business in a prudent and mindful manner, just as McCoy Rockford has done for more than 70 years.
“This new chapter reflects our long-term commitment to sustainable, people-centered growth,” she explained. With expanded leadership investment, strong market momentum and a shared vision for the future, McCoy Rockford is positioned to shape the next generation of commercial interiors across Texas — and beyond.
